Leaving the church – quite simple in most cantons
Leaving the Church
- Send a registered letter to the parish of your place of domicile (except Canton Wallis: to the baptism parish). In addition we recommend to send a copy to the tax office of your community.
- Keep the confirmation of your resignation. You might be required to submit proof of resignation when moving to a different community.
We offer a standard letter template that enables any adult to declare an immediate resignation for her- or himself and optionally for underage children.
