Sherif Gaber needs your help!
Well-known atheist Sherif Gaber is in great danger. His passport was taken away and he was sentenced to four years in prison for blasphemy. International Atheist Day is the perfect opportunity to draw attention to his plight and that of all others who need your help!
According to confidential sources, he cannot leave his house without the fear of being arrested. We want to bring this to the attention of the Swiss Embassy in Cairo and request asylum for him on humanitarian grounds.
Gaber is a political activist and blogger who was already arrested in 2013 and 2018 for professing atheism, despising religion and making atheistic comments on the Internet. Now he is threatened with arrest again. Almost 400,000 people have subscribed to the 30-year-old's videos on YouTube, and he has 40,000 followers on Instagram. In his posts, he criticizes the IS; on his blog, among other content he comments on religion and science and addresses Arab women. The content provokes the regime and its supporters.
